"Bound by Faith ... Committed to Justice."
Join us for this year’s Red Mass, the Guild’s most cherished tradition uniting members of the legal community in faith and fellowship.
Your participation and support help sustain the Guild’s mission to promote the highest ethical standards in the practice of law and service to others.
As we begin each judicial year, the Catholic Lawyers’ Guild of the Archdiocese of Boston sponsors the traditional Red Mass to ask for divine guidance in the proper representation of clients and in the proper administration of justice in the courts and in public office. Since its inception, the Red Mass has remained the ceremonial highlight of the Guild’s year.
The Catholic Lawyers Guild of the Archdiocese of Boston does not provide legal services. However, Boston has two “legal incubators” which provide cost-effective legal representation to people who fall within income guidelines of 225% to 300% of the Federal Poverty Level (approximately $54,675 to $72,900 for a household of 4).
The Honorable Joseph R. Nolan was an accomplished lawyer, esteemed jurist, noted author, learned professor, and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who epitomized what it means to be a Catholic living out one’s faith both personally and professionally. The Catholic Lawyers’ Guild of the Archdiocese of Boston annually presents the Honorable Joseph R. Nolan Award to a member of the legal profession who best exemplifies Justice Nolan’s devotion to the faith, excellence in the law, dedication to family, and unwavering compassion for all.
Laudetur Jesus Christus!
